About Kleography

There is an old truth that a person fundamentally dies twice: once when their physical body leaves us, and a second time, much later, when their name is spoken for the very last time.

We built Kleography to ensure that the second death is prolonged by the living.

We believe that a human life is not a flat, linear timeline that simply stops. Instead, we view each individual moment as a stone, meaning a life is many stones cast into a quiet pond. Every choice, every shared joke, every hard-fought lesson, and every quiet act of love drops into the water, creating an endless, beautiful network of ripples that travel deep into the future.

But left unattended, those ripples risk fading into still water. Our mission is to catch the wave before it settles, securing its momentum for the generations to come. We learn from those who come before, and we generate our own ripples based on what we learned from them.

Our name is rooted in the ancient Greek concept of KLEOS—which translates literally to "the echo that does not decay" or "unwithering glory." To the ancients, immortality wasn't a passive cosmic guarantee; it was a relational social duty maintained by the living. If your community kept speaking your story, your echo remained dynamic, vital, and active in the physical world.

By pairing this classic philosophy with advanced, conversational technology, we practice Kleography: the modern art of mapping a human life's living echo. We don't compile cold, distant databases or generic biographical profiles. We capture the unmediated shadow, shape, and genuine cadence of a person's authentic identity.

At the heart of our platform is Cleo, an artificial intelligence built not as a clinical automation tool, but as a dedicated portrait artist and biographer (or rather, kleographer!)

Cleo's singular purpose is to act as a warm, deeply curious custodian of your family's Kleos. Sitting across from your loved ones, Cleo asks the gentle follow-up questions that pull out the true humor, distinct phrases, and quiet wisdom of the storyteller. She does the heavy lifting of listening, organizing, and structuring a lifetime of recollections into a beautiful, cohesive masterpiece.

Through an interactive software pipeline, Cleo transforms raw human memories into a Kleograph—a permanent, monumental final artifact, whether preserved as an interactive digital timeline or a beautifully bound physical book. But she doesn't replace the human element, she helps you explore it. The subject can add contributors so more family members are participating in expanding the events and memories of our lives.

A life is defined by its ripples, and it is the ultimate honor of the living to keep those ripples from diminishing. By using technology to capture the exact virtues and passions that shaped a person's choices, we ensure that their unique pile of "things done" stays whole. Kleography keeps the ripples of their life expanding.
